Market America YouTube Commercial

Someone mentioned that Market America has video-clip commercials on YouTube, so I decided to go check it out. This specific one is pretty funny, thought I'd share it with everyone.

Objective analysis of the commercial from my personal point of view:

Plus: Funny, eye catching
Nutral: Not bringing up company brand till the very end. I know it's the new trend of TV commercials in this century, but it really doesn't help out brand awareness/recognition for a brand that's not on the average shopper's "top of mind" in the shopping category.
Lack: The commercial did its job, which is to be funny. As far as messaging goes, it sends the message of "Shopping online is better than shopping in brick-&-mortar stores", which is great. But I personally think it also should included the message of and reasons for "shopping at marketamerica.com is better than shopping at other mall-sites."
Overall: Great commercial, looks extremely professionally made, funny, and not intrusive.

How about everyone else? What do everyone else think of this commercial?

I think it gets the point across, too. I notice a lot of these commercials seem a tad bit on the long side, though. Is it possible to make something a bit more specific and shorter?

I thought it was very informative and humorous. although I would have to agree with schmed02 it is a bit long for a comercial. However I don't think it can be more specific, you nailed it MA.

I like this for not being a commercial but more so a comical short that make lite of the experience many of us face when shopping.

I agree with the length comments. I was watching it and thought it was funny, but even I was busy and didn't want to watch it to the end. I fast forwarded it just to get to the part about MA.

i think our company name should be in the beginning too not just the end. otherwise it was catching.

Sorry this is off-topic.

I know the MA Blog is in its early stages, but is there a chance that there will be live blog updates from future Leadership School, International Convention or other major MA events? I think it would be an exciting way to get new developments and event highlights out to the field.

Chris Black:
Great suggestion on leadership school live blog. So far, we're planning on doing recaps, and I doubt we'd be able to implement the idea of live blogging for the current one, but I'll make sure to bring up the idea before the next convention.

Thanks,

The short comic idea is good - but it looks home made and not as professional as the company image I would like to project. I would not show it to my customers.

Very funny! But I agree I wish there was more of a verbal message.

yea i think this commericial is relly funny and eye catching at the same time..but yea..they should put a message at the very beginning so it could create a brand recognition..when i first saw this commercial at the 2008 leadership school i love it...they show a lot more commercials at the convention today

Fun, well done. A little long for a "tv moment" but it would be fun to show this at a second look....perhaps a comical and interesting ice breaker...or even at a one on one at the very end...just a thought! THANKS for creating and making it available

A little dramatic, but realistic too...shopping, traffic, lines, the high price of gas, and of course the time that you'll never get back that could have been used to do something of value to you/your family. There is a better way to shop and this effectively outlines it.

I agree with Jesica, the MA logo should also be in the begining also. The video is a great awarness tool for prospects.

The point gets across, but I'd have like to see the brand sooner. The length, if you last that long , just makes it funnier. What happened to the guy watering the tree?

I hope this commercial was only made for you tube because it is certainly toooooo long for any other medium! Great content just tooo long. I fell asleep before the end!
