Keeping Babies Busy this Holiday

I’m lucky enough to be the father of a beautiful baby girl. I love seeing the excitement on her face when I get back from work and I enjoy spending every minute I can with her.

There are times however when my wife and I need to do basic chores around the house and we find ourselves juggling between keeping the baby busy and getting things done. That’s when I pull reinforcements out of the closet.

There are great items to keep your baby safe and entertained and give parents a much deserved break. Here are five items any parent could appreciate:

• For young infants, swings are a world of fun. Swing and Bounce 2-in-1 Infant Swing from Graco takes the fun to the next level with a detachable bouncy seat that vibrates. It’s a sure way to keep little ones occupied and great for naps.

Baby gyms and playmats are very engaging even for babies that can’t sit up or stand. It encourages reaching, lifting the head and sitting up. There are a variety of models that include music, toys, and different textures and colors for babies to explore.

• For babies that are learning to sit up, seat positioners and boosters can provide the extra help. Summer Infant Super Seat Booster has an activity tray that provides hours of fun for curious little hands.

Pack 'n Plays are a must item for every new parent, especially if your child can already sit up. Just place your baby in there with his/her favorite toy and watch with amazement.

• If your baby is not ready for any of these item yet or just wants to be close to you at all times carriers and backpacks are a great solution. Front carriers and backpacks offer the mobility parents need with the closeness babies like.

*Even when using these items remember to never leave your baby unattended.

If you have any other products that you think are really great as well, please tell us about them! We love to hear your ideas!
