Curcumin may help protect against hormone replacement breast cancer risk

In a recent study posted in the Journal of the North American Menopause Society, scientists at the University of Missouri reveal that curcumin, the active compound in the spice turmeric, could help prevent one type of breast cancer in women who use estrogen and progestin hormone replacement therapy. One of the doctors who conducted the study made the following comment: "The results of our study show that women could potentially take curcumin to protect themselves from developing progestin-accelerated tumors."
