Build your business by getting involved

This Saturday, Greensboro hosted its "Amaizing Pet Adventure," a day of fun for families and their pets. They held pet adoptions, rabies shots, micro-chipping and a dog show for "normal" dogs that had been rescued. Our own Brandi Quinn was one of the judges. At the "Amaizing Pet Adventure," Market America got a lot of good PR (as soon as I figure out how to upload the media links, I'll post a reply.)Market America co-sponsored the event and a local Market America Customer Manager, Donna Smith, sold PetHealth™ products and networked with pet owners and local pet businesses.

I know many of you are probably wondering where to start when it comes to selling PetHealth. Vets can be less receptive to supplements (more so than some doctors even) and you may find it challenging to get the word (and the products) out there. But fret not, local groomers, dog shows, adoption fairs and rescue events are just a few ways that you can network with pet owners and local small business owners.

Pet owners can be some of the friendliest people out there, and by making yourself a friend to the community and support the needs of local animal shelters, you can not only build your business but you’ll also forge long lasting friendships.

Put together a gift basket with PetHealth items and donate it to your local animal shelter. Attend adoption fairs and take a few extra products with you to sell. Take a stack of PetHealth booklets to give out to new pet owners. If someone you know (family, coworker, church member, neighbor) has just adopted a new member into their family – put together a care package for them. There are small, simple steps you can take to build your business – and once you hand out the products, they pretty much sell themselves.

Challenge yourself to get out there and get involved. See you at the top!

Okay everyone,
Our multimedia team has uploaded the video to MA TV. To find it, go to your portal, click on "MA TV", click on the last page, click on "Amazing Pet Adventure..." it's about 3 minutes long, but it mentions MA and shows the products.

Just a side note, Donna Smith, the Customer Manager that was at the event - did sell some product, but more importantly she made a lot of contact with pet owners, business owners, etc. Events like these are a great way to get your business out there, to hand out your business cards and get people to your portal.

Here is a great way to help out your pet community and grow your business. This past Sunday afternoon I setup a booth at an Event called Dog Fest 2008. This event was to help raise money for the rescue groups, but also to educate pet owners on products, training, and awareness of rescue groups. It was a day for pet owners to come out and enter contest and have fun with their pets. I participated as a vendor to tell pet owners about our great Pet Health products. Not only did I pass out lots of information but I learned there are so many wonderful pets out there they need good homes. I am sure no matter where you live there are events you can participate in too. Get out there!
