ED Confidential - An Insider's View of Market America

If there's one thing I've learned in my year as editor of Powerline, it's that there's a certain "magic" about Market America.

Ok, so at first thought that statement might sound a little biased, seeing as how they sort of sign my paychecks every month. But that is precisely my point - they don't even have to pay me to get excited about this place! Never before have I worked for a company where each and every individual under the roof believes so strongly in what they're doing. And I have the best job of all... passing the word on to members of the field.

If you think the crowd gets excited when new products and services are announced at our events, you can't even imagine the level of anticipation I experience. Almost every day I receive emails and briefings about some new mind-blowing venture Market America is making a reality. If it's not some cutting-edge new product, it's a new service or an exclusive partnership.

Seriously, can you fathom what it's like to look up from your desk one day and see the Duchess of York standing 5 ft away? Or to hear someone on a phone call "talking shop" with the incomparable Kimora Lee - goddess of all things fashion and entrepreneurial alike - as if it were as normal as calling mom on a Sunday afternoon? Perfect example of how this place turns dreams into a reality. I often think that nothing within the potential of my imagination is out of reach here. If I've so much as dreamed about it, chances are there's somebody within the company that's already making it happen.

The shared, genuine belief in what we do here makes it all possible. It's why everybody from CEOs and celebrities, to working moms and day laborers stand still and listen when JR speaks. They all know that it's the voice of unfettered opportunity calling, and they know it knocks at the door of this humble Greensboro building like clockwork. If you can dream it, it can be brought to fruition within these walls!

I haven't been with the business to long but amazed how enthusastic everyone is. But also because I've heard Jr said this and that. After being at the convention, leadership school I found out there's alot of heart in to company. Not only the $ part but being the best and looking into the future. How can I help others make it in to co. He is a visionary. Wow! I wouldn't even thing of standing on my head. I'm lucky just to walk a straight line and let the people who don't believe show them up. It's hard to say why I write this response/comment. Obviously not so much to "Crystalk" but more to everyone who is not only reading the blogs but contemplating this "THING" called Market America. I guess this is more about my wife and how she has believes in Market America. I was a "Product of the Products".I lost 85 lb.'s using many M.A. products, along with a vigorous excersise program. Then I met my future wife in January 2006 and she intoduced me to the "Business" DUH!! How did I miss that. More importantly, how did my distributor not tell me about the OPORTUNITY. Remember that folks. Be proud of the "BUSINESS". It's a no brainer. That being said, I have , after 2 years, figured it out. Why would you not want to have a 6 figure income and time freedom, etc., etc., etc., etc., and, in my case, have the oportunity to develop an awesome relationship with my 2 step-children. I thank God and M.A. for giving me the time to have with them and to develop that close relationship with them. You can't buy that folks and I can't explain how great it feels to have that special bond with them.

Enough already. Here's My favorite poem of all time. Joyce Kilmer was as great a Patriot as was born. I know you guy's will do your home work on him. Take it for what it says.

Trees
(For Mrs. Henry Mills Alden)

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.

A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth's sweet flowing breast;

A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;

A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;

Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.

Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

My name is Dustin Mitchell and I am a distributor in St. Louis, Missouri. I started in the businesses when I was 18 and was a stable/waiting distributor for most my years. In 2007 I renewed my goals and am go now and on my second 10-3-2 fast track.

I agree with what you said about JR. I don't believe that there is really anything that we can not achieve. It's because goal setting and action plans are such an important part of our business.

The time is coming when everything that Market America touches might as well turn to gold. That is how powerful the UnFranchise business model is.

Keep growing and God Bless you all!!

I was introduced to MA about 3 weeks ago through Mikki and Greg Johnson in Minneapolis, and right away I knew this is what I was waiting for! Over and over I see the character of this wonderful company. I went to Miami before even becoming an Unfranchise owner and was simply blown away. The thing I appreciated most was truly the hearts of the people running the MA...especially JR. Virtually everything he said were things that I was frustrated with in my 12 years in Corporate America. I'm so excited to tell everyone that will listen about MA!!

The reason I actually came on the site for was because I'm looking for something for a VIP customer...my mom :) We have so many great products, it's difficult to know what each one does. Is there a product info phone or website where we can find the best product for a particular need? For example, my mom would like to remove some dark spots on her skin which has appeared with age. (That's what she thinks is the reason anyways...) I remember someone at the Convention talk about a product that can fix this, but I can't remember what it is. Please help.

I know everything is soooo very positive and for the most part I agree. There is one little bitty item that bugs me-maybe it is a dot, I don't know-I really had trouble with the center fold in last months Power Line. This is a business for the "average" people too and it is getting a little glitzy, over the top, when your CEOs are presented in such a fashion. Just one person's opinion. It was hard for me to explain to our newest partners as this is really not who we are,,,,IS It?? GMPeg

Response for Anonymous who posted on 2/27/08:

Hi Anonymous,
Apologies for the delayed response...they keep us pretty busy around here.

In answer to your question, if it's dark spots your mother is worried about, I'd recommend the Cellular Laboratories De-Aging Creme. Great stuff!
