A recent study published in the journal Advances in Therapy evaluated the impact of omega 3s and glucosamine, taken in combination, on individuals with osteoarthritis. This randomized controlled clinical trial involved 177 participants with moderate-to-severe knee or hip osteoarthritis. The participants either received supplementation of glucosamine alone or glucosamine and omega 3 fatty acids over a 26 week period. The study concluded that individuals who received the combination of glucosamine and omega 3s had a more substantial reduction in joint stiffness and pain than the individuals who received glucosamine alone.

Market America Raises Over $125,000 For Rally For Kids With Cancer
The results are in and Market America alone raised over $125,000 for the Rally For Kids with Cancer event held in Miami last weekend. The Rally for Kids with Cancer brought celebrity navigators and drivers together to maneuver through seven unique pit stops throughout the Miami area, earning points in their quest to raise funds to help Jackson Memorial Foundation, International Kids Fund (IKF) and Holtz Children's Hospital, and provide hope that one day the end to cancer can be celebrated.
"What a great weekend we had to raise money for such a wonderful cause," said Loren Ridinger. "I would just like to thank everyone who donated to Team Market America and to the Rally for Kids with Cancer; whether it was $5 or $5000, it all made a big difference and will no doubt have a lasting impact as we try to eradicate this awful disease."
The Rally kicked off with an exclusive cocktail party at the home of Loren and JR Ridinger on Friday, Nov. 20. There, every driver had the opportunity to draft a celebrity navigator for Saturday's Rally. After a morning brunch, the Rally for Kids with Cancer dropped the green flag Saturday at 11:30 a.m. After successfully navigating challenges such as the Miami Dade Police Academy driving course, recording a song track at the Setai Recording Studio, performing a rock concert at the Gibson Guitar Showroom and racing through a jet ski obstacle course on South Beach, Team Market America with JR and Eva at the helm, took 1st place.
Among the celebrities who participated were Eva La Rue (Actress, CSI: Miami), Gilles Marini (Actor, Sex and the City), Vivica A. Fox (Actress, Independence Day, Soul Food), Vanessa A. Thanksgiving Goodies Without the Guilt!
It’s that time of year again, when we lose sight of our waistlines and focus on our forks! This season, feast with the rest of them, only without the guilt.
Try this low-glycemic stuffing recipe and enjoy your Thanksgiving favorite without worrying about the repercussions!
Vegetafruit Stuffing Serves 12
Ingredients:
10 cups of low glycemic bread (Ezekial bread is delicious) cut into small cubes
2 strips of turkey bacon, stretched and diced
1 cup of low sodium vegetable stock
1 Tablespoon of Butter
2 Onions (Yellow)
5 Granny Smith Apples, peeled, cored, and diced
2 Cups of Fennel, chopped
2 Celery Stalks, diced
2 Tablespoons of Parsley, Flat leaf chopped
½ teaspoon of each: salt, pepper, and oregano
½ cup dried apricot
½ cup egg substitute
Directions:Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Toast bread cubes until light golden in color, about 12-15 minutes; set aside and cool. Increase oven temperature to 375 degrees. Place turkey bacon in a heavy saucepan. On top of stove, cook over moderate heat just until the meat starts to brown. Remove from pan; chop into a small dice and reserve. Melt butter in the saucepan. Add onions and saute until golden in color, then add the diced bacon, apples, fennel and celery. Cook for 3 – 5 minutes, stirring continuously. Spray a 13 x 9 baking dish and add toasted bread, vegetable mixture, and stock to a large bowl. Mix in herbs, seasonings, fruit, and beaten eggs. Transfer to baking dish. Cover with foil, sprayed with pam spray. Cook 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake until top is browned; about 20 minutes.Makes 12 - 3/4 cup servings.

Low vitamin D again linked to higher mortality.
Numerous studies have shown that lower levels of vitamin D can be associated with the increased occurrences of health issues and premature mortality in the elderly. A new study published in Clinical Endocrinology (November 2009), followed the vitamin D levels of 614 men and women, average age of 70 years, over a period of 6 years. Those exhibiting the lowest blood levels of vitamin D were found to have 2-4 times the increased risk for all-cause mortality and cardiovascular mortality. This report helps to support the need for vitamin D supplementation with regards to reducing mortality and cardiovascular risks.

Keeping Outside Pets Warm
Unless you are lucky enough to be sunning away on some tropical island, or you live south of the equator, the cold weather has arrived. To top it off we have been drowning in rain for the past week in North Carolina.
As much as we complain about the weather outdoor animals are far more vulnerable to the climate’s harsh conditions. However there are a few precautions we can take to ensure our outside pets are keep warm and comfortable.

Senior Pet Month

JR Ridinger Speaks at Entrepreneurship Open House
Anyone who has attended World Conference or International Convention knows how powerful of a speaker JR is and how his life experiences and chance encounters helped to create Market America. Last night at the University of North Carolina Greensboro (UNCG) the Bryan School of Business and Economics opened its new entrepreneurship center to the public and JR shared many of those stories and anecdotes to a standing-room-only crowd of over 300. JR's main message of the evening was about the importance of entrepreneurism in fostering growth in the economy and creating independence for individuals.
Much like his speeches at Market America events, JR had the audience captivated with his own stories of how he became an entrepreneur and the experiences life brought him that eventually led to the creation of Market America. JR closed by urging the audience of future entrepreneurs to realize that no matter how great an idea you have, it is more important to surround yourself with the right people to help implement that idea, and to never let someone tell you something can't be done.
Established by the UNCG Board of Trustees in the spring, the UNCG entrepreneurship center is equipped to help business owners fulfill their own entrepreneurial goals in seven targeted areas: creative industries, family business, franchising, healthcare entrepreneurship, international entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship and technology entrepreneurship.

Finding The Right Fit
Finding the right bra is a daunting task. From push-up to demi, seamless to underwire, and with an array of colors, the choices are endless. And when it comes to comfort and fit the numbers are staggering. Nearly 70% of all women are wearing the wrong bra size! An ill-fitting bra can cause poor posture, offer inadequate support, be unflattering, and even lead to scarring if it is too tight or the underwire does not fit properly. A bra that fits properly is more comfortable and can make you appear slimmer and taller. Who doesn’t want that?
Finding the right bra size with 3 simple steps:
1. First take a measuring tape and measure your rib cage directly under your bust. Make sure you exhale completely. This is your band measurement. To determine your band size round it to the nearest whole number. If the number is even, add four. If the number is odd, add 5. For example: If your band measurement is 30.5 inches, you would round up to 31 inches. Since that is an odd number, you would add 5 making your band size a 36.
2. Now measure the fullest part of your bust. This is your cup measurement.
3. Subtract your band measurement from your cup measurement to determine your cup size. So if your bust is 32.5 inches and your band measurement is 30.5 inches, the difference would be 2 inches. That would make you a B cup and a size 36B.

2009 Latin Grammy recap
With spectacular performances by some of the greatest names in Latin music the Latin Grammy Awards took place last night in Las Vegas. Puerto Rican hip hop/reggaeton duo Calle 13 took home the Grammy for record and album of the year. Alejandro Sanz performed the song “Looking for Paradise” while accompanied by Alicia Keys. A Legend in the Making?
Some people believe that breaking music chart records is a sign of an artist’s longevity and if we look at the biggest names in music there’s seems to be a trend. Elvis Presley was the artist with most top ten hits in the history of Billboard Hot 100 until 2008 when he was surpassed by Madonna. Michael Jackson’s Thriller is the biggest selling album of all time. And The Beatles still remain one of the most influential musical acts to ever walk the face of the earth.So if we look at contemporary artists, who is breaking chart records? Well, for this century that would be country music darling Taylor Swift. That’s right, this 19 year-old super nova is the artist with the longest-charting album on Billboard’s Top 200 charts in the last decade. Or as Kanye West would say: “I'm happy for you and imma let you finish but I just gotta say that Taylor Swift has the longest charting album of all time... this century!”
The distinction is for her self-titled debut released in October 2006 and spending its 157th week on the chart. This album is also the longest-charting album from a female country artist in the Nielsen SoundScan era. Only time can tell if Taylor Swift’s music is here to stay, but the teenager seems to have started very well so far.

Congratulations to the New York Yankees for their 27th World Series Title
Love them or hate them the “Yanks” did it again. By defeating the Philadelphia Phillies 7-3 in game 6 last night the New York Yankees secured their 27th World Series title. The title also cements the Yankees as the sports franchise with the most championships in North American professional sports. In the first time in the history of the World Series a designated hitter, Hideki Matsui, was named the series MVP also becoming the first Japanese born player to take home the honors.
This Friday the Yankees will paint the town in pinstripes with their traditional parade starting at Broadway at Battery Place at 11 AM ET.

Keeping Babies Busy this Holiday
I’m lucky enough to be the father of a beautiful baby girl. I love seeing the excitement on her face when I get back from work and I enjoy spending every minute I can with her.
There are times however when my wife and I need to do basic chores around the house and we find ourselves juggling between keeping the baby busy and getting things done. That’s when I pull reinforcements out of the closet.
There are great items to keep your baby safe and entertained and give parents a much deserved break. Here are five items any parent could appreciate:
• For young infants, swings are a world of fun. Swing and Bounce 2-in-1 Infant Swing from Graco takes the fun to the next level with a detachable bouncy seat that vibrates. It’s a sure way to keep little ones occupied and great for naps.
