2009 Primetime Emmy Nominations

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced the nominees for the 2009 Primetime Emmy Awards in the early morning hours of July 16. This year many of the nominees come as huge surprises. The Big Bang Theory for Outstanding Comedy Series is arguably this season’s most talked about shows, as well as Family Guy in this year’s running’s for Outstanding Comedy Series rather than left in the Outstanding Animated Series with its fellow competitors. The comedy series 30 Rock received record of 22 nominations, while past year’s big winner Entourage received its lowest number of nominations yet. Thankfully, this year’s nominees have to be the most diverse (yes HBO’s series are finally taking a back seat) that we have seen in quite a while.
