These are manufacture discounts valid at any on-line retailer as well as local tire retailers.
I' ve just got 4 tires for my mustang gt convertible and I couldn't believe it, when anybody in the market could beat the price, even at wholesale total of $317 included s&h, awesome!!

Tire Rack is a great place to order tires. Most local tire places won't have a problem with you ordering the tires and having them shipped to their business (check with your local store first) for installation. This way you can purchase them online and save a bundle! I shop at this store whenever I need tires as well -- they are much cheaper!
