A new study published in the British Journal of Nutrition reports daily supplements of multivitamins and minerals may improve the brain function of children. Participants included 81 children with an average age of 11. They were given a daily multivitamin and mineral supplement or placebo for 12 weeks and were assessed based on cognitive performance. The researchers noted the children in the vitamin/mineral group performed more accurately on two tests of attention and the first signs of improvement were seen as quickly as the first day.
